A Vision Takes Root

Long before his passing, Luc Innocent shared a simple, powerful dream with his family, friends  and neighbors in Figuier: he wanted to build a reservoir, and he believed the communiry would come together to make it possible. That dream became a promise. Through Fondasyon Luc Innocent pou Devlopman Lakay, his family  and local supporters honored that promise. Today, the reservoir stands as a symbol of hope, bringing water, growth, and renewal to the land and the people he loved.

The Reservoir Project: Life from the Ground Up

To support reforestation, fruit farming, and livestock care, the foundation built its first reservoir, ensuring access to water throughout the dry seasons.

What the Reservoir Nurtures

Each drop of water sustains life and progress:

  • Reforestation: Over 50 fruit and forest trees now thrive with consistent watering
  • Fruit Farming: Papaya and lemon trees provide food and income for families
  • Livestock Hydration: Goats, and chickens now have a clean, reliable water source
  • Training for Youth and Farmers: Hands‑on lessons in sustainable agriculture and water management
  • Community Impact: Multiple families benefit directly from this shared water source

“This reservoir changed our lives,” says Fadner. “Now our trees survive the dry season, and our goats always have water.”

Today, the reservoir contains a growing forest of fruit and shade trees — a living testimony to Luc Innocent’s vision.

Beyond Water: A Living Legacy

This reservoir is more than a structure; it’s a living monument to Luc Innocent’s dream of unity and self‑sufficiency. He believed that progress begins when people work together, and this project proves it. His children now carry forward that mission, restoring the land, empowering youth, and building a greener, stronger Haiti.
