Across our communities in Figuier, Mapou, Anse-Rouge, and rural Artibonite, many elderly people and vulnerable adults face daily challenges in silence. Some are stroke survivors. Others live with disabilities, limited mobility, or chronic illness. Many require daily care, hygiene assistance, emotional support, or basic medical follow-up that their families simply cannot afford.
In many cases, elders of advanced age do not even have access to a proper cane or walker. Some rely on makeshift sticks, making everyday movement difficult and dangerous. Isolation, food insecurity, and emotional distress often accompany these physical challenges.
At Fondasyon Luc Innocent pou Devlopman Kominotè, we believe that no elder or vulnerable adult should face these hardships alone. This program exists to provide holistic, compassionate care rooted in dignity, respect, and community solidarity.
